Key west from Orlando
Have drove to key west from Orlando but had a look at flights from mco to key West which take about and 1.5 hours and cost about £135 per person return.
Has anyone flown instead of driving and what are your thoughts |

We now usually fly into key west from elsewhere in the US but have flown from key west to Orlando a few times. Really small airport as you can imagine and we've not encountered any problems.
We usually book with Silver airways.

I would be more tempted to fly Orlando Miami return and then drive the Keys.
For me, whilst Key West is a great place, the highlight is that absolutely fabulous drive. The 7 mile bridge is worth it on its own. The price difference between Miami flights and KW flights would probably pay for the car hire... or you could fly in to Miami and fly back to Orlando from Key West. Flights for next August are very consistent. MCO- MIA return is £75 MCO-Key West return is £135 MCO-MIA and then Key West-MCO a few days later is £112 Out of those options, for me it would be the third option and a hire car journey down the amazing Keys. The difference between Key West return and the Miami in, Key West out is £23 and that is PP. I don’t know how many of you there are, but it may more than cover the car hire, particularly if you dump the car as soon as you get there!
