I think the right person won, and you could see how much it meant to him, well done Perfect Peter!
The end part about 2020 made me cry, they did well to pull any kind of series together this year.

Really pleased Peter won. Dave came back really strongly in the final, and it was a really close call. We couldn’t determine who was going to win.
They did amazingly well to create a series throughout the pandemic - it was lovely that they acknowledged all the hard work of everyone involved in the production.

The right result I think. I do find Laura so relatable but despite her excellent flavours, she was never going to win and she knew that. I hope she manages to rise above the horrible Twitter trolls and do something amazing in the future. I would read a ‘messy baker’ blog for sure.

I think the problem for the contestants this year was the timings. They were recording two episodes a week by all accounts and having very little time inbetween to practice what they would do the next week. In previous years they could go home and have a week to think about the next week and practice.

Wasn't a massive fan of Peter as he was so annoyingly perfect, but he did deserve the win!
Loved the addition of Matt Lucas this year and will really miss having GBBO and extra slice to combat the lockdown boredom!

Matt Lucas really grew into the role. In the first few episodes it felt like he was trying to hard and I didn’t think it would work but by the end he had slotted perfectly into the show
