I think people mis-understood this and have answered the question "What is the most obscure thing you've seen on a fish and chip menu?", although I do understand that Northern folk are a bit strange when it comes to this stuff.

Anyway, as a veggie my favourite is halloumi and chips, sometimes marketed as "veggie fish and chips".
