Random Celebrity Meetings

Anyone met any celebrities in situations away from their normal day jobs.
For me it’d be Charlotte Spencer, star of ITV drama Sanditon and voice of Angelina Ballerina. And also Jeremy Irvine star of the film version of Warhorse. And they’re both linked.
Charlotte used to attend oldest DDs dance school and regularly comes back to teach and she always has a good natter with oldest DD
And her mum is site manager of the primary school both our girls went to.
When youngest DD was diagnosed with T1D, Charlotte’s mum said she knew someone famous who also had it and would love to meet her.
Turned out her other daughter was dating Jeremy Irvine. So one Saturday afternoon me and DD went to Charlotte’s mums house for tea and cake and a chat with Jeremy Irvine.
He was fantastic with DD and spent a good hour just sat on the floor with her explaining how he’d coped with Diabetes.
So nice to meet someone famous in a normal situation

I was using a loo in a hotel in Porthcawl when I spotted Sir Malcolm Rifkind stood next to me.
Does that count?

I ŵent to a friend's house after school one day and I was surprised to recognise that his brother was Brinsley Forde who I regularly watched on the double deckers and he was the founder member of Aswad the reggae band and I actually liked their music (Fair play to my school mate for never even mentioning it).

I also went out with a girl and when I went to her lovely big house after seeing her for a while there were silver and gold discs all over the wall and discovered he was in a band years before as well as being on TV and at the time he had a show on BBC radio. He was a really nice guy and very down to earth, and my girlfriend had never mentioned anything about him.

Was in the virgin lounge at Gatwick near the late Wendy Richards and her foul mouth partner!

Oh, forgot. I spoke to the late great Fife Robertson at Manchester Airport before we boarded a NY flight in 1976.

Such a good journalist.

Met Jedward in the queue for the Studio tour at Universal studios Los Angeles.
Not as irritating in real life as you would expect. They were really friendly and nice to chat to.

We were having lunch outside at a bench at Universal a few years back when a lady asked if she could join us - there was plenty of room. I did wonder why folks were obviously looking at our bench. It was Bette Midler - visiting with her nieces and we had a wonderful hour in her company...lovely lady and my sons were well impressed.
