Alamo brits online check in problems - update

We booked with Alamo brits back in September and when I came to do online check in it wouldn’t let me, I kept getting a red error message at the top of the screen. We resigned ourselves to having to go to the Alamo desk.

Well we arrived yesterday and made out was to the Alamo desk expecting a huge queue but there was only 1 other person infront of us and a few people working it behind the desk. We weren’t asked for the brits guide but we had brought it anyway just in case that was the reason we couldn’t check in online. There was no hard sell at all, the guy on the counter commented that we had a midsize SUV this time but had a standard last time and were we happy with that. From this is take it he can see all our previous hires and so decided there was no point in trying to sell us any of the extras as we weren’t likely to go for them.
All in all it was a really pleasant experience, far cry from the first time we hired a car 13 years ago and they tried to up sell everything under the sun and we left convinced we had no worthwhile insurance and the car would breakdown at the aide of the road and we’d be stranded 😂

Thanks for posting this, we are in the same boat. 5 years of alamo never had to visit a desk. hopefully we have the same experience as you. Also have the Brit Guide if needs be
