Flying from LGW South terminal
Looking for hotel to stay overnight on 18/8/20.
I’ve read that PI North is a good choice and easy to get to the South terminal. Just checked the price and it’s £86.50 per room semi flex or £118 free cancellation for the Hilton. Anyone got any recommendations in relation to both of these hotels please.

If you shop at Tesco and have enough Deals you can stay "free" at the Hilton attached to the south terminal.
If paying real money we've never bettered the PI opposite the north terminal but we've only paid £28, £38 and £55. We've never had any problems staying at the PI - only a few minutes ride on the APM to the south terminal. Good value meal deal as well at around £26 per person dinner and breakfast. Mick

Agree with Mick, we stayed at the PI last year flying from the south terminal.
Their prices this year seem to be a lot more expensive. We paid £55 last year, for this May It was never under £79 so gave up and used Tesco vouchers and booked the bloc instead. Inside the terminal right next to security for the morning. |

There's another PI just about a 10 minute walk from the north terminal I believe. Lots of Dibbers use it and probably a bit cheaper.

I would book the Hilton, just for ease of it being connected to the South Terminal, I know you can just get the monorail from the North if staying at the PI but we just prefer the Hilton, and have got good deals by using my Blue Light Card and Tesco Clubcard points.

Last time I stayed at Hilton in the old part, it was grubby verging on filthy, but we were so tierd when we got there we just crashed
Perhaps this was one off, but its PI all the way for me now. Disney332

We stayed at the Hilton last Feb but I found it a complete trek to get over to the South Terminal. I didn’t realise what a huge hotel it is and we were quite possibly in the furthest room from reception in the new block. I honestly think it would have been quicker or at least the same amount of time staying at the PI and getting the monorail over. If I found a good deal then I’d stay again at the Hilton but certainly wouldn’t pay anymore than the PI for it.
We are also flying from South Terminal this August but have booked the PI North Terminal for £85 on a Flex booking. It’s certainly gone up in price than a few years ago but was actually cheaper than the other PI Edited at 10:28 PM. |
