I have stayed at CSR several times, usually in Casitas, once in Ranchos, all before the tower.

It is one of my favorite resorts and IMO has a deluxe feel to it. I have always stayed in a standard room, won't pay for view or preferred, but always been happy with the room. I have never stayed in a room without a bathtub.

I like the tropical feel to it and love a walk around the lake. I also think it is a bit quieter than some of the other resorts. Last time we stayed my DD was on spring break from medical school and appreciated the relaxed feel to it,

We ate at the QSR several times and have always been happy (we split a meal because they are pretty big.

ETA: I have had some difficulties walking in the past, requested a room close to El Centro and was put in the first Casitas building, just across the walkway from El Centro.

Imho the best moderate and even better than some delux. Only resort to have a restaurant on a lake.

Toledo restaurant at the top of the GDT has the best vista in the whole of wdw.

We have just had a lovely time there and have booked to go back this Christmas, I think it is the best place to stay it is more like a deluxe than a moderate, the food options are superb, we were in casitas 3 which was a preferred room option they were very nicely done. We have booked the Tower this Christmas

Just to mention about CSR, we stayed in the Ranchos area, and while it was quite far to the food court/reception by foot I think every resort bus (except the Disney Springs one) the last stop before the bus headed to the parks was El Centro (reception/Lobby/Food Court) which we found handy to get breakfast on the go from the cafe before going to the parks. Also the smaller pool at Ranchos was always really quiet... building were only 3 stories I think and we had a bath tub.
