Anyone had a 3 piece suite re-upholstered.?
How much did it cost?
I just need a ballpark figure. I'm in a catch 22 - the upholsterers won't quote without seeing the suite but I don't want to buy it without knowing how much it would be to re-upholster |

Not sure if it is worth telling you but we had our big M&S corner sofa and 2 chairs reupholstered in 2013 when it was around 6 years old.
Luckily the local upholsterer I chose came out to see it and check it was worth redoing, which it was. It took about 3 weeks, they collected it and included 6 arm caps as well as the spare cushion making a total of 8 seat and 8 back cushions plus 2 arm cushions and the frames in an all over pattern sort of tweed chenille fabric. He also rewrapped the cushions as well as the frame with new wadding, put new webbing on the seats. We have had this fabric for as long as the original now and it looks better! However it came at a cost - I can't find the receipt but it was between £2500 and £3000 for a suite that was around that price in the first place We did it because we couldn't face searching for a new suite , just choosing fabric was so much easier. It is now too big for our new living room and we are considering having it remade into a straight sofa which I have had a quote for £800. Again it is so comfy and still looks good so we are seriously considering it. Hope all that info helps, some pics below of it when it was first done, but honestly it doesn't look much different now!

I was quoted over £3,500 to cover my 3-2-1 and stool, for a 15 year old suite. It was just faded with the sun really. Went shopping and managed to buy a Duresta in the sales for not much more money. My son and his other half then got the old suite.

Thanks... Very helpful. I was underestimating what it might cost.
A shame really as I'd rather recycle than buy new. |

We wanted to re-upholster but were put off by the costs as it was in the same ball park as buying new.
In the end my wife made up some new arm covers which was the problem areas, I think this will last a year or two longer ! |

We have to get the upholsterer in to quote for the 6 dining chairs and a big chair from the same room.
Not looking forward to that. I think the big chair will be the one that tips it over the edge so I’m anticipating a grand.
