It really depends on how long the flight it is and the layout of the plane.

A short flight I don't mind but a long haul then I do. This time we've prebooked one of the twin seats at the back of the plane - have done this before and it works out well. I love to look out of the window but DH likes to be on an aisle - he has long legs and also hates disturbing people when we get up.

I do it for short haul flights like Ryanair as it’s only a couple of quid more. If it was £175 like some carriers like to charge then I wouldn’t do it.

Obviously I don't like paying but for peace of mind I do pay if required - It's the only way my mind will settle knowing that we won't be separated as I'm a very nervous passenger

i would pay for seating because i like to choose where i sit not necessarily with the person i'm flying with (that sounded mean but i didn't mean it to be)!

I dont mind people not paying for seat selection, as i posted previously i wouldnt bother on short flights but what does annoy me is the mindset of people who dont book purely on the premise that 'we have children so other people will have to move for us' ...the 'entitled' parents.

the flight is part of my holiday and I want to sit with my hubby and teenage children so I would rather pay so that I know I've done all I can to ensure that we're together.

I have voted and commented but ours isn’t actually listed.
We don’t pay because we hold out and keep checking the plan to see if it’s likely to be necessary. So far we’ve never paid.
I possibly would pay as despite us all being perfectly capable of sitting alone, we do all quite like each other and it’s part of the fun 😆

Our option isn’t listed; no, as we can pick seats for free.

We pay because my husband knows if he isn't sat next to me, blocking my exit, there is a good chance I would get off the plane and he would end up in Orlando on his own. Can you tell I'm a nervous flyer 😏

We would always pay to sit together due to medical reasons, eldest daughter is diabetic and requires regular insulin injections which she can’t/won’t do herself, needs continued supervision as she has no hypo or hyper awareness. Middle has adhd and has high functioning autism, suffers from anxiety and panic attacks and our youngest has sever allergies and only young.
Plus I hate flying so I need my husband’s support
We are a right bunch aren’t we lol
So we would always pay
You do know you get free seat selection for medical reasons? You just need to contact the special assistance department of whatever airline you are flying with.
