My mum does about 20’miles a week in her car . Just a trip into town for shopping and the odd short drive to the village and back

We sold one of our two cars because it spent 90% of its life sat on the drive , it was also a diesel estate . We always have big cars as we need the space , but because my husband works nights I used his car in the day rather than the other one .

No I wouldn't be worried at all. My last 2 cars I bought when they was
almost a year old with around 3k on the clock. I've never had any issues with either of these cars and it's saved thousands off what the new price would be.

I always buy low mileage cars and they are usually ex mobility as well and have had no problems with any of them.

The golden rule if you are buying second hand is always to walk if you have any suspicions. There are always others. Having said that I would not have a problem with this vehicle from what you have said.

I'm just about to part ex my Toyota lease car (68 plate). Had it since September '18). It's only got 3200 miles on the clock but I work 3 miles away from my house! 900 of those miles was driving it to Disneyland Paris and back this time last year for my birthday!

Dealership love me as they get a mint car with very low mileage and a full dealership history. I love them as my monthly payments dont change and I get a brand new car roughly every 18 months! Works for me

My 17 plate Fiesta has just under 6000 miles on it as I don’t use it for work anymore.
It’s getting to that time to ‘enter negotiations’ with Ford, hate it!

My dad used to say the same thing to me but that was 20 years ago. It was before more records were electronic and the on-board car systems would have been much easier to hack. I think he was worried I'd be buying a 10 year old Nova, Metro, Peugeot 205, Renault 5 (all the cars that kids these days don't remember) and the mileage clock would have been turned back.

I have a Vauxhall Zafira on the drive that's only used for longer journeys - usually trips to the airport or down to the seaside rather than lots of short ones. It's 6 years old with 11k on the clock, there's a genuine reason for occasional use and it has been main dealer serviced since it was new. I have another car (company car) that's smaller and more convenient for every day use.

My son bought a 2006 Ford Ka with 12,000 on the clock last year. Apart from perished tyres which deceivingly still had plenty of tread left it’s been faultless.

Like with any auto purchase, I would have it looked at by a mechanic before buying. If all checks out fine I would buy it! Years ago we bought a fab family van from a young man who had priced it low to sell quickly. It had been his (recently) late granddad's. It had low miles, still smelled new, and had scratches in the interior from granddad's oxygen. (He used to drive himself occasionally and would put the cylinder on the seat behind him. When taking it in and out, it would drag a bit and left deep scratches on the interior walls and door.)

Just sharing our experience to let you know there may be other reasons for the low price. But definitely go in with open eyes and have a mechanic take a look.
