Work issues again!

I’m going in to see my manager this afternoon and have a chat with him about how I’m feeling. I’m going to stress that I love my job and love working with Older Adults but that I’m feeling frustrated that I’m not being given opportunities to progress. I feel this is a fair point to make and it doesn’t come across that I’m particularly taking anything personally.
I’ll see what he says and take things from there.

I’ve been in and spoken to my manager this afternoon, he has actually agreed with me and said he would support me if I wanted to raise a grievance for the original issue from last year, I said I didn’t want to do this but I was feeling frustrated and held back because I didn’t feel I was being given fair opportunities. He has said he will pass this on to the matron and managers of the other wards. He kept hinting that I was annoyed but I just reiterated that it was more frustration.
He has encouraged me to apply for any band 6’s that may be coming up in the future and agreed that I am now at a band 6 level and should be progressing. We discussed my strong points and things I still need to work on which I acknowledged.
All in all it was a really useful and constructive meeting and I’m glad I’ve cleared the air, he really appreciated the fact that I hadn’t let it fester and had gone in on my day off to discuss it and get it sorted. I do feel so
much better now.
