Awaiting surgery fly on the 12 august
Dibbers does anyone know how soon after Ureteroscopy surgery for kidney stone surgery you can fly. We fly to Miami via Heathrow from Newcastle on the 12 August and are there for 17 days.
Apparently you can’t fly with kidney stones according to the doctor so they are doing the surgery. Obviously I will need to contact holiday insurance when I get out to see if they will cover me while away after surgery as well.

Well i know you can fly with kidney stones as dh has been doing this for 20 years, but maybe your doctor means something more specific to your case.Dh has the ureteroscopy surgery fairly regularly sadly and was told not to fly for 3 weeks afterwards, maybe check with the surgeon?

Thanks for the reply. The surgeon has suggested this as said if I went away with the stone it is to big to leave at 5 mm as he wanted me back in a fortnight to see if it had passed but with been away didn’t want to risk me in America with a stone if it became stuck
While away that’s why surgery is suggested

Fair enough,dh doesn't usually pass stones over 5mm, but he has a duplex kidney which complicates matters.hope you can recover quickly and can go away again when you are feeling better.
