Is smugglers run just a standby queue
As above,
is this ride now NOT part of the boarding group thing and just simply has a standby queue, no fast pass etc. can you now just go to HS and walk up to the back of the queue Thanks all

As I understand it:-
Smugglers Run is just a queue that you join. Rise of the Resistance you need a boarding group for. I am sure if this isnt correct, someone will come along shortly and let us know :-)

It has never been a boarding group ride, for the first few days after opening in August the GE area was accessed by boarding group, but not the ride per se.
It is regular standby and also it has a single rider line, we used the single rider line in September and were on in about ten minutes. |

At the moment...
Smuggler's Run is standby only. No fastpasses are available and no boarding pass required. Rise of the Resistance requires a boarding pass - that is, it is operating a virtual queue only. There is no standby queue and no fastpasses are available. How long that will last and when it will change remains to be seen.

Looking at your countdown, it looks like you are going in early August. I'm going late August. I suspect things will have changed by then. Hopefully, the rides will be on the fastpass system before August.

Just join the line. You can get a DAS pass if so required.

There is a single rider line but it is very often closed at the moment. We did get lucky and it was open once as we went by...the standby was about 2 hours and we got on in (timed) 9 minutes! Well worth it.
BTW...Smugglers is an extremely high capacity ride and the lines move very quickly. Its really well designed to handle multiple ride vehicles at the same time. Its a maze of tunnels to get out as a result Well worth checking out the schematics online.

The current wait time is still advertised as 150mins though. Two and a half hours isn't very quick for a extremely high capacity ride.

But if you compare it to how many people ride it to others perhaps it is a high capacity ride.

Have you seen the lines? They have been running out of GE into Toy Story and out into a back stage area.
Compare it to the other rides there at the moment and its often lower times than the other Eticket rides in the park and others despite it being the big draw right now.
