Getting to and from airport to universal

What do most people do when they they need to get from Orlando airport to universal hotels and don't want to hire a car for the length of their stay.

I have looked at 3 options

Hire a car for a day each end of the holiday to get me from and to the airport

Uber

Universal’s SuperStar Shuttle Program

Does that cover all possibilities

Thanks for asking this i was wondering the same as we are booked into cb in august and not hiring a car. Although i aporeciate an uber is probably loads cheaper we are not familiar with using it and im wondering if it may be a bit stressful in the airport with 3 tired kids while i try to book one? May pre book a transfer for when we land and then hopefully ill have cracked the uber app for the end of the hol.

Never done it but there are lots of shuttle companies, some of which advertise on the Dibb.

Last summer, I simply got in a Taxi outside of MCO and it was $48 plus tip and to the Ramada, just South of the Universal area. I would guess that this would have priced RPR at $55

The reasoning on stopping short was that our flight arrived late afternoon from Cincinatti, we knew we would be tired after driving there from Dayton OH and therefore we would get few benefits from being in the RPR whilst paying a fortune that night. Our budget decision cost £60 for four of us including breakfast as opposed to £350 plus to stay that night in the RPR.

After a $10 taxi ride at 0700 next morning, we were booking in at the RPR, dumping our bags on the concierge and off into the parks. Our planning meant that we had saved around £250 whilst covering all our transport costs. We ate on I Drive that evening when staying at the Ramada, making further savings on the cost of food within Universal without sacrificing quality.

We could have saved more on the transport by using Uber, but living in Cornwall it is non existent and I didn’t want to have hassle on arrival in Florida, never having used it before.

We picked up our hire car for the rest of our vacation from Holiday Inn (Budget) upon leaving RPR, thus saving 2 days car hire and parking as well .

Hoping that makes sense!

Uber is super easy to use , just download the app put In your card Details and your all set, the area for uber pickups is well signposted and you will get a picture of your driver there car make and registration to make it easy to identify them, there is very rarely a shortage of uber drives at the airport so you will hardly wait any time for one and it’s so much cheaper than mears

Yes it will still work.

Also, have a look at Lyft. We pretty much had 25% off our rides for our entire 18 night stay last year

We only paid $28 for a Lyft XL which easily transported a family of 5 with 5 cases and hand luggage
