We didn't want to pay the extra money to get the license by post (and to us it seemed like more hassle than just driving there!) but if you're short on time I guess it saves the time. It was just over an hour's round trip from WDW, including the time spent doing the paperwork.

We only took our passports, and have had no trouble getting our marriage recognised in the UK - we just show our marriage certificate - hope that helps!

Dont forget under Florida State Law you have to have read the Family Law Handbook.

Its only a few pages long so dont panic.

Thanks for the info. I've never really understood birth certificates you know, kinda useless because they have no photo - and with good reason too, I look nothing like when I was born LOL.

I read if you were a US resident you needed to take a pre-marital course too? Sounds a bit military doesn't it?

If you dont take the pre marital course (which reduced the cost of the licence) Florida residents have to wait 3 days before they can get married, no wait if you have done the course, and no wait for non US citizens.

Good idea I think, saves spur of the moment weddings that may be regretted later.
3 days is not that long to wait, I have waited 10 years.

I believe the reduction only applies for Florida residents ?

£50 ai u were lucky

Got some quotes, and we have been informed that per seal / document it is £100, been offere 200 and 210 so far, we already have our postal application, but will head to a courthouse when out there and get it filled in, according to wedding people this should be only about $20 we were thinking of saving time and not dragging everyone out, if it were just £50 i'd get it done here. application and affidavit, as well as verified ID i believe. I might be confused, contacted solicitor and a notary.

Just as well as I did not fancy taking up my holiday doing pre marriage lessons.

Our son (Cosmo Kramer) and Daughter in Law were married in Florida a couple of years ago at a relatives Beach Front Home in North Florida.

They got the license from the Court House in Kissimmee a couple of days before the wedding. Took them about 15 minutes to get the license. It is good for anywhere in the state.
