It’s exciting! I love a house thread!
We just virtually rebuilt our house, at one point it was four walls, no roof and no floors in most of the rooms. We also thought about renting but lived in it for a year instead while we got a feel for it and got quotes. We are really glad we did that, as we got to know the house better, and our ideas evolved.
We rented for five months when the work was being done.
Good luck and enjoy it! 👍

Lovely looking house in a beautiful place- I love that area and the proximity to Caen Hill Locks

If you're looking for window quotes we have recently been through the process and found White Horse Windows to be the most reasonable and they've been brilliant (not 100% sure if they'll travel as far North as where you will be though.) Our neighbours have also used Melksham and Conversatories and Windows in the last week and are very happy with them so far

Looking forward to following your renovations

This is such a coincidence. We are selling our current home in Chandlers Ford and looking for a new house in Salisbury. spooky!

I wish you all the best, house renovations are so exciting but a long old slog! We have completely redecorated our current house and expect we will need to do it all again in the new house!

Wow, what a coincidence, whereabouts are you? Maybe need a Hampshire to Wiltshire Dibb group?

We currently live right on the outskirts of Chandlers Ford, not too far from Asda

I was intrigued about what I could buy with that budget in my area.

tspc/4-Bed-Detache...Forfar-DD8-2NF

A mere £360,000 so a bargain . I just need to win the lottery...

Seriously, I have no idea how people afford houses at these prices. While neither OH nor I earn great wages we are definitely “above average” for the area and could never afford anything like that. Are we missing something?

That is stunning! And a nice part of Scotland too, I went to college just down the coast a bit in Cupar!

We didn’t have big holidays or 2 cars while the kids were growing up! We just accepted it I suppose. Do doesn’t earn super money, we just cut our cloth! But I do worry about ds and dad. One is an OT with the NHS and the other will possibly be teaching or working in child care!

Looking forward to this one! Wish you all the best with the move.

I need to tart my own house up and sell it, I've moved into my dad's house which I have inherited. Lots of updating to do there too starting with the kitchen in September.
