We bought one last month. universal parks are definitely charging, along with the Seaworld and associated parks. Anything from $2 to $3. it was a surprise to us as we thought they were free to swap.

Disney removed the words saying free to change as some people thought it applied to all locations including those outside of Disney some of which do charge.

I’ve just read on a Facebook site that as of 1st November there will be a $3 fee to change the fuel rods.

Edited at 05:55 PM.

I think I must be missing something here?... can you not just charge them in your hotel room when you get back before you go out again?

Yes you can. We took our own chargers this year and did just that, but ended up buying a fuel rod as our charger went flat and my husband's phone battery was playing up. It worked really well for us as there were loads of places to change the fuel rod.

I definitely won't be paying $3 a time to change it next year.

Get ready...soon enough there will be a fee for using the restrooms.

First visit to the restroom is complimentary. Subsequent visits will carry a small convenience fee. You'll wave your MagicBand at the door to access the facilities. Once the Imagineers are notified of your newly emptied bladder, they will instantly target you with drink specials (Dasani on sale for $5.50!).
