Should I clean my house before we move?
Bearing in mind, our buyers have been difficult and nasty each step of the way?
We get a cleaner in every 2 weeks anyway, so the place gets a full clean then. It's not like the place is a mess but should I be cleaning the bathrooms, floor etc before we leave? I am fully expecting to clean the new house when we get there. What has everyone else done when they have moved house?

Depends if you want to stoop to their level. I would still leave the house clean as would not want to give them any chance to moan about the state it was left in to friends, family or neighbours.

I would leave the house immaculate even though they have been a pain in the butt. I wouldn’t want to think I was grubby.

I always do.
I've yet to move into one that I haven't had to blitz from top to bottom. There's a lot I could say about that but dignity and decorum prevent me, lol ... |

I would definitely hoover round and leave in a reasonable state. I wouldn't be doing a mega clean though, just leave it presentable.

Always sold a house with a proper deep clean. Personally I wish they’d make it part of the contract. I’ve moved to houses that look clean but aren’t. Rentals have to have a deep clean, why not purchased properties

I think personally, even if someone else has cleaned a house, I wouldn't be able to tell if they had done a good job (hence why I am expecting to clean my new house top to bottom).
I think I will do the basics hoover and mop the floors, but won't be doing a full deep clean. I can't bring myself to pay £100 for our cleaner to do a full deep clean with the way the buyers have acted, to be honest. I am not wishing to stoop to their level (you cant imagine the disgusting things I would have to do to the place to get down that far! ) but that's just how I feel. The place isn't that dirty anyway, perhaps I am overthinking things

When I moved 6 months ago I was lucky that our removal company came the day before to part load and ended up taking everything apart from the sofa, tv and bed, so we were able to give our old house a really good clean. No way did they have any reason to say anything to my old neighbours about the state of my house. Luckily for me the people I bought from were lovely and had cleaned their house before leaving it. My daughter then moved 2 weeks later and her new house was bought off an older couple who liked to surround themselves with stuff, so it needed a mega clean.
