Ridiculous tactics from Heathrow Pause.
Extinction Rebellion deserve credit for having nothing to do with them.
Their targets will be long haul flights, especially to 'exotic locations'.

Presumably their families are all finished with their long haul exotic holidays and now trotting off on short haul

Well it looks like this is still going to go ahead. I wonder how they all travel to these rallies ?
I know one thing these idiots have painted graffiti all over the UK on the sides of bridges, I guess we will have to use some chemicals to remove it all that will cause harm to the planet they claim they want to save.

Activists with Heathrow Pause, a splinter group of Extinction Rebellion, have said they will operate small toy drones from 3am on Friday 13 September.

A spokesman for the organisation said it expected “somewhere between 50 to a couple of hundred people” to be involved in the action, with each person using a drone. With disruption intended to last for a number of days and potentially longer, the activists said they “can’t stand aside” and had to act.

No problem with peaceful protest. I have sympathy for the cause, I even have an electric car, but I do not agree with the methodology.
What I do have a problem with is wilfully allowing law breaking and a ton of police stood by watching all week at great expense as happened in Leeds. Obstruction of the highway is still a criminal offence, and they totally blocked off the main bridge into Leeds centre. This caused tailbacks, lost a lot of people a lot of time, and caused air quality degradation.
The problem is, what if next time 'Free Tommy Robinson' want to sit in the road and block it for a week? I'm afraid if we are saying there must be a right to peaceful protest, and it's fine for one group to break the law and cause great inconvenience, how can we then say it isn't right for another- just because we don't agree with their point of view?
It opens a whole, dangerous can of worms.

Pre strike arrests made.

One being the co founder of Extinction rebellion. Makes the idea heathrow pause being a splinter group look a little less likely. Just another name to stop the main group getting the flack.

Has this co-founder left ER temporarily I wonder, or not left at all.
If so that's pretty damning that ER could be hiding their taking part behind the construct of a 'splinter group'.
Would show they are more worried about public opinion than they admit.
Heathrow Pause saying they have enough drone 'pilots' to continue their protest through Sunday.

Well done so far to the police and Heathrow airport for what looks to be a very effective operation today.
