New vaccine from December uk

If this new vaccine is rolled out world wide and the FCO lifts the restrictions sooner rather than later do you think there will be a mad rush for holidays pushing the prices higher

I wouldn’t be surprised at all. Glad ours is already booked now!

I think there is going to be a lot of pent up demand plus a lot of unspent money hanging around.

We have missed out on so many holidays and that money is unspoken for, I imagine lots in the same position.

Also there is the issue of what I can only imagine is millions and millions £ in vouchers that are out there, some include a whopping travel credit on top for taking the voucher.

I can’t see the travel company’s letting everyone book at this years prices, their going to need cash on top, they need to recoup the bonus credit somewhere.

Possibly. One thing at a time though. The news is joyous but will be a while before the population is vaccinated and fco lift travel restrictions I reckon.
A light at the end of the tunnel though 👏👏👏

Glad I booked mine already. I think prices will initially go through the roof but will settle down after the initial rush to book.

I think we are looking at distinct periods...

Bad
Less bad
Better
Much better
More or less normal

It is anyones guess what time period each will cover, but it will not be quick.

Not necessarily. A lot of people will have lost jobs or otherwise experienced financial difficulties, it will be an offset to the higher demand from people that have not been impacted so much financially.

Maybe .. depends how many more people become unemployed as this won’t be a quick fix .
Haven’t booked anything and don’t intend to until much much closer to the time ,definitely won’t be rushing anything if there’s still a chance I’d have to try and claim it back again

It's going to take a while for Vaccines to be deployed globally.

Therefore I still anticipate restrictions being in place well into 2021.

I think 2022 is more likely when we'll see sharp demand and price increases.
