Lost my mum last night - the grieving process?

So sorry to hear of your loss

I lost my mum just over two years ago so I feel your pain, I don’t think anything prepares you when losing a loved one.

I’ve lost my Dad, younger sister & other family members, heartbreaking but for me personally, nothing hit me as bad as losing my mum.

It’s as fresh today as it was when she passed, but I will say that with time you start to remember the good & fun times with them which helps ease that pain.

I lost my grandad five years ago and burst into tears yesterday thinking about him - he really was my best friend. Thankfully that’s a very rare occurrence these days and I’ve no idea what prompted it.

Don’t put yourself under pressure, everyone handles grief differently and at a different pace but you will get through it. X

I don’t remotely want to sound like I’m happy others have suffered such losses - I am devastated for you all.

It is however helpful to know that I’m not alone in having had such intense pain - it’s comforting to know that others understand. It can feel incredibly lonely even being in a room full of people, but talking here has helped me see I’m not the only one to go through this. 😢

I am sorry to hear about your mum and I hope you are okay.

It is heartbreaking to lose wonderful mum as I lost my mum when I was 18 years old Its hard as it was 41 years ago. I still miss her.

So very sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my mother suddenly in July. For the first few days I was in a complete mess ... but there was so much to do too. There is no handbook or guide on grieving. Do it at your own pace and how it suits you. You don’t need to conform to anything. You will learn who is important in your life too. You will be very raw but life has to go on.

It changes you forever ... but remember grieving is very personal. You will deal with this and emerge on the other side.
