Sending card details over email

Hi all , I'm trying to hire a scooter from km rentals but there asking for details , including all my credit card details to be sent over email which I'm not comfortable doing , just wondering is this normal practice when hiring a scooter in Orlando and has anyone done this before ..Thanks ..

You should only send sensitive data over a secured connection. If a green padlock appears in the top line of the screen thus:

then you are perfectly OK.

I certainly would not send any information like a card on an ordinary email. Find a different supplier.

When I hired a scooter for my mom I used the online chat at first and then they took my telephone number and called me for all my card details.

I wouldn't send any card details via email - either get them to call you or you call them.

we use Randys and details are taken on a SECURE site--personally I would never put credit card details in an email--as the others have said---ring them to be safe

That's what I thought , I'm not happy sending all details over email , I might ring them if not try someone else , thanks for all your replies x
