Is it expensive

For our previous two visits we have stayed on site so not had to budget for meals etc.My question is... has Orlando got more expensive or does it just appear so due to the poor exchange rate?

I thought it was very expensive for food in 2015 offsite, I always think the supermarkets are much pricier than here, try and take as much with you as far as breakfast cereals, tea, coffee and snacks as you can.

We went first time last year was surprised how expensive supermarkets were.
Eating off site cheaper options
Eating in the parks expensive.
We found the most expensive and not worth the money was Hard Rock Cafe.
We have Chinese takeaway brought t o our villa one night well worth the m o ney
We d o need what our budget allowed

It depends on where you want to eat if you are using the restaurants on idrive its generally quite cheap to eat, places like Miller's Ale House, Red Robin and the Winghouse you can feed a family of 3 for around $35

We have just returned and eating out wasnt expensive at all. There is so much choice for whatever your budget. Supermarkets tend to work out more expensive for meals than going out.

I was in Millers ale house 6 months ago, and you would be pushed for a family of 3 to eat for $35 (also taking into account a tip) unless you had no starters, ate the cheapest meals on the menu, had no dessert or sides and shared a drink you might just scrape $35.

We have been going almost every year for 25+ years and really noticed how expensive things are now. Apart from the flight prices which are still reasonable (fingers crossed that continues), everything is so expensive.

really

i will say millers childrens menu , last year @$4.50, was excellent but with a couple of (alcoholic) drinks , 2 adults 1 child was @$60 at least

for the OP yes it def getting more expensive

as for buying groceries in supermarkets to make sandwiches/snacks, its cheaper to buy a couple of subs at say 7/11 and share them imo

I remember when we stayed at Anna Maria we picked up a can of hairspray ( it had no price on shelf ) , at the till it came up as $16 ! Needless to say that went back on the shelf . I always thought their supermarkets were expensive , so much so that my OH insisted on bringing the bin bags home we bought as they were so expensive !

Agreed, we found supermarket prices were much more expensive than home (buying at £1/1.5USD). And most products were very large packs - as a family of three, that led to a lot of waste too.
