Motorists scooter
Does anyone have any experience with hiring a motorists scooter at any of the parks ? Just wondering about cost, availability, can you reserve them before ?

What's a motorists scooter? Do you mean a motor scooter for on the roads? If so, then no you can't rent one. If you mean a disability scooter, then yes you can, but they're much cheaper to hire one elsewhere.

They are expensive in the parks - roughly $50 plus a refundable deposit of about $20.
Much cheaper to hire from outside companies - we use Apple scooters who deliver to our hotel for us.

Sorry everyone, yes I mean a disability scooter, I didn't know you could hire them from outside company. Are they very bulky to transport ? We are just trying to decided on what car to hire, so to would be handy to know about its size they are, to help make that decision

We hire the smallest one available (they come in different sizes). It folds down easily though is still heavy to lift into the back of our hire care. We rent a standard SUV and usually fits in fine - sometimes need to put down back seats - fine cause only two of us.

Check out the special needs section for more info. Many different companies hire out scooters - we have used
Apple Scooters Buena Vista Scooters About $250 for 14 days hire -way cheaper than hiring daily in the parks.

Thanks again everyone, didn't even know that option existed or that there was a special needs section on the boards, I'll have a look at it now
