Has anyone ever been upgraded?

Just curious... has anyone ever been upgraded to Golden Forest or Compass Club or equivalent?

Yes and no. We were offered a good deal to the compass club, which we accepted but when we got home we never got charged to the credit card. I think we unintentionally had a free upgrade... which was nice!

Sorry to jump on your thread, but we are thinking of upgrading NPB from standard to compass, is it rude to ask how much they were going to averagely charge you/quoted you and assuming this was when you were there? Only we asked to do it before we go and they want to cancel our current deal so it would have cost us about a grand which we could not afford. Once again im so sorry to jump on your thread

We were in the same situation. We wanted to upgrade before we left after reading about CC on the DIBB. Like you, we were advised we would have to cancel and rebook costing over £1000 to do so. When we arrived at check in we asked about CC for the 4 nights we stayed and we were quoted £149 to upgrade. We were convinced the gentleman got his figures wrong so we accepted the offer swiftly. That seemed like an offer we couldn't refuse. Like I say though, 12 months later and the payment was never taken so it was a free upgrade in the end.

I advise you ask on arrival. I certainly will be doing so again.

Thank you! that is a very good deal haha! we were hoping it would be around the £250 mark, we will be 4 nights as well. We will definitely ask on arrival, worth a shot after all Definitely lucky with the free upgrade in the end, definately shows how disney can be magical

We were upgraded to a suite in HNY a few years ago for free from a standard room. I had emailed before we went to ask for some balloons as it was my daughters birthday and they upgraded our room. It was a lovely surprise when we walked in the room!

We paid to upgrade to compass club last year but we did it before we left. I am sure it cost us £240 for 4 nights but I might be wrong!

No but I have been downgraded. On my last stay in September 2014 I booked a Montana room at Sequoia Lodge. When I checked in there were no Montana rooms available! I was there at 2.30 pm and they wouldn't let me check in till 3.00 - so I sat in reception then went to the desk bang on 3.00 so I wasn't late checking in. Having booked a year in advance I wasn't happy. They had no Golden Forest rooms available so in the end I agreed to stay in a standard room and they gave me a VIP fastpass for the whole trip as compensation. It actually worked out really well as it meant I could just walk on to all the rides, including Ratatouille which had only been open a couple of months and the queues for it were horrendous, and also my favourite - Peter Pan. Again the queues for it were horrendous.

We've had a room upgrade at DLH 3 times but when I say 'upgrade' it was more of a hop up to the next category. Twice we've had terrace rooms and once we had a partial park view room with a small Juliette balcony which I was informed isn't a 'standard' room.

I think there was only one occasion where we mentioned a special 'wedding anniversary' when asked when we booked. I think that was the partial park view room if I recall.

It was a nice gesture for which I was grateful, but didn't make a lot of difference - not like I guess an upgrade to a suite or club level for instance.

I would LOVE to have a VIP fastpass!
