Sarasota & Anna Maria Island - 2 Days!

We are heading over to St Petersburg for the baseball in September. The game is at 7pm.

We are planning to leave Kissimmee very early in the morning and head straight down to Sarasota and spend a bit of time here. We then plan to head up to St Petersburg to out hotel for about 5.30pm. Our hotel is over the road from Tropicana Field so that will be plenty of time.

Next morning, we plan on heading over to Anna Maria for the day and stay for sunset.

What would you recommend to do in Sarasota and Anna Maria as we are only there for such a short time? We've not been to either before.

Where is the best place to watch the sunset?

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

We've only ever been to Anna Maria so can't comment on Sarasota during the day we spent our time on the beach. We watched the sunset from the sandbar and beach house restauarants both were good I preferred the beach house food. At St. Petes beach we stayed at the trade winds island grand which had lots of activities for kids and the sunset was pretty amazing from there too.
