Victoria and Albert- jackets?
Hi all,
Have booked V and A for hubby and I during Disney. I know men are expected to wear a jacket but have also read that you can borrow one from the restaurant. Hubby will not wear a suit again so seems daft to take one for just one night. Has anyone borrowed one from V and A and if so did you contact the restaurant to arrange this? Or possible hire one? I know you can do this for cruises. Thanks all |

This what puts me off V&A. I would be happy to wear trousers and a shirt - maybe even a tie - but not a jacket.

I felt exactly the same way, and was very reluctant to take a jacket all the way across the Atlantic and back for the sake of a few hours' wear. I had read many posts online reassuring me that a jacket could be borrowed, but I spoke with the restaurant "just in case".
They reassured me that this is a very common request and they have a good range of jackets in various sizes and would be able to lend one, no problem at all. Sure enough on arrival they sized up DH by eye and returned with a perfectly fitted, "like new" jacket.

We went in December on my husband's 50th birthday with our 2 son's. Unfortunately my oldest hadn't listened to mums instructions and forgot his.
We called ahead and they kitted him out no problem. They'd obviously dine this many times as the first they gave him was a perfect fit. Had the 10 course meal and it was fantastic. |

Took a light jacket with me to wear in Remy on the Disney Dream. Weighed practically nothing and if you fold into "quarters" it doesn't crease.

Why not? TBH it's cold in there as they set the aircon to suit people in jackets so you would be cold without one. OP - take tights or at least popsox for the ladies and put them on in the Ladies before you go in! They will lend you a shawl - cashmere of course (really!)
