Myself and dh can call each other whilst away and we can call home too.
Always found the reception and 3G/4G fine both in and out of the parks.
Doesn’t bother me changing number for two weeks and I generally set up a holiday what’s app group for family to see photo etc.
Just put the sim in your phone and call somebody before you leave the UK. Then I also create an online account to check everything is working fine.

Whichever one you go for you are limited to 12gb while using feel at home. It was unlimited until a couple of years ago.
Would definitely recommend
We've just bought the go roam sim today and put it in the phone and it's now activated. You mentioned using feel at home. Do we need to do something more to activate this, please?

Just make sure roaming as activated on both the account and phone, switch the phone off when you get on your plane, and swithch it on at the other end.
Simple as that :-)

(Go Roam is the new name for Feel at Home)

IN theory, this should not be an issue as most calls are in the at home allowance, such as calls back to the UK.

However, you can not call US numbers (£1.40 a min needed on payg balance) and if you do not use +44 or 0044 in front of the numbers to call uk it will assume a US number and say no credit.
that's great advice thanks, i too the plunge and brought a £20 rolling contract one as my vodaphone contract stops in July so i may just use it as a permanemt network if i am happy with it as vodaphone never works in the house anyway

I have bought 2 sim cards today. We go in June, just been reading the info on the back of the pack and it says valid for 30 days from date of purchase. Is this correct as the sales assistant lead us to believe it was 30 days from activation. Now worried that they will be out of date before we go :-(

Just a side note.
I usually sign up to the free month of skype premium before we go for all of us.

Uses data ( although a tiny amount - can work on WiFi only) but covers any calls, Inc. USA numbers. Great for taxis, reservations etc.

3 were terrible for me pre 2017, but improvements have been made. I use O2 roaming now.

Edited at 10:18 PM.
