Anyone been on 4th July?

I feel like I've asked this before but I couldn't find an old thread when I searched...

We will be in LA on July 4th and I', not sure what to do that day... There is a possibility that we might wrangle an invite to my brothers friends house for a BBQ/fireworks etc, but we won't know that until nearer the time. I was thinking of booking the WB tour for the morning so we definitely have something to do that day... I'm struggling to work out what will be open that day. I'm guessing shops will be closed? Don't really want to do Universal that day as I think it will be packed? I guess we could go to the beach that day...?

Any thoughts/suggestions? What did you do? I'm guessing traffic will be heavy and anything that's open will be busy...

Yes it was just like anyother day tbh. Even outside the parks.

But this was florida.
