Contemporary or BLT?
Hi everyone
First of all, let me say a big thank you to all of you! This may be my first message on the boards but I've following for years and learned so much We went to WDW in 2011 and 2013 and stayed offsite back then. Next year we would like to stay onsite We will (try to) book Beach Club on the 24th with free dining for 9 nights in July 2020. The following nights we would love to stay at either the Contemporary (room only) or rent DVC for Bay Lake Tower. A studio in BLT would be cheaper than a garden wing room in the Contemporary but smaller. A 1 bedroom would rather follow the price of a main building room. Which one would you prefer? When would the best time to book this? Edited at 06:17 AM. |

How many of you are staying in the room? We had a BLT studio for two of us this year and it was perfect, but it would have been really cramped with any more people staying in the room

We're staying in bay lake tower in 8 days (not that I'm excited at all), but can tell you what it's like very soon!

Bay Lake Tower is a favourite of mine - but we do travel as 2 adults only. Although its smaller, there is lots of storage space in BLT, all cleverly squirrelled away, and the location is brilliant.
If you want the space, go with the Contemporary. The garden wings are lovely and so peaceful. Mexy02 suggested The Grand Floridian too - the DVC wing is heaven in my eyes! I have mini room tours of both in my trip reports if it would help. Or photos as follows: Bay Lake Tower studio: kirstywant.smugmug/WDWDL...ay-1/n-rSV4sC/ Grand Flo Studio: kirstywant.smugmug/WDW2017-Day-7/ The benefit of the Flo is that you would have a pull down bed in addition to the sofa bed, so wouldn't need to worry about kids sharing the sofa bed. |

BLT for me without a doubt, I find the Contemporary lobby just far too busy with the monorail hustle and bustle.
We stayed in a 1 bed on the outer rim (lake view), it was huge and really very lovely, if you do choose BLT as the owner you rent from to request the outer rim, all rooms are much bigger than the inner rim.

Thanks everybody!
I think the BLT studio would really be too small for our family... So the budget at the time of booking will therefore become the deciding factor :-) If we can go crazy it will be a 1 bedroom in BLT! Never rented DVC points though... Enjoy your stay DrSuzi! |
