Getting the best out of Disney dining plans

Very new to DIBB's and DDP. We are just starting our 2021 Easter Disney trip planning. Am I right in thinking FREE DDP offers are not available in Easter hols? We will be staying on resort for 14 nights. Can we pay for 7 days QS and 2 days TS and spread them over the 14 day period? As we wont be on site everyday.

It depends on your dates. If you check in the last day free dining is offered you get it for your whole trip so some people manage it but generally no, it’s not offered over Easter.

You can’t pay for two different types of dining plan and any dining plan has to be for everyone in the room for the length of stay. It’s probably better to just pay for what you want as you go.

Another DDP question. If the Free DDP ends in 31st March and we arrive 30th March could we get the DDP for our full 2 week holiday?

I've seen a few threads recently where people have been trying to decide between different dining plans. I've tried to summarise pros and cons of each at the bottom of the first post. Let me know if there's anything you think I've missed out.

Thanks so much for the update, and o all those who were involved in the complete post, it's exceptionally helpful.

I have one question please, a pin is mentioned, it mentions you need to use the pin you set up on MDE. But I've never set up a pin, I just needed an email and pw to set up my MDE, so where does the pin aspect come in for me?

When you login to MDE go to the my profile area and then card payment. This is where you enter the credit card details for the card you want to attach to allow charging to the room. It's also where you can enter a pin number for the magic bands. Alternatively you can do this at the front desk of the hotel.

Hi we have free DDP I’m planning to upgrade my 6yo because I’m concerned that between his allergies and the limited kids menus he is going to end up with chicken tenders twice a day for a week! The adult allergy menus look a lot more interesting but will be far too much food.
We are 2 adults and 3 children 11/10/6. I plan to share qs meals but my question is can we share TS meals? We just won’t need 5 adults meals. We don’t check in to Disney immediately from our flight so we have 7 full days and 6 nights of dining plan credits - is like to spread them out if possible.
