We did the DxDDP last year. It worked for us because we were a party of 12 in 2 separate rooms. We only had the dining plan for one room, which included 3 adults and 4 under 10's and we shared the credits between us all, never having (or needing) more than 2 meals a day.

Yes we've upgraded a few times, it allows you to try all the signature or 2 credit TS places and still have an extra TS credit each day for a breakfast or sit down "recharge" lunch or character meal in the aircon.

We ate better quality food doing the deluxe plan (and probably less food too, doing it this way than the standard plan). Of course tips are higher. But a) we only do a plan for 5 -7 days (any more would be overkill) and b) we don't enjoy counter service meals every day on holiday.

Depends how many of you there are, what you order, how many TS meals you have etc. There's no standard amount.

No idea, I do not track tips. I have already paid a lot of money for a Disney holiday and tips are a drop in the ocean. I don’t understand the interest (because a lot of people mention it) in tip costs tbh.

We’ve done deluxe the last three times and we love it. We literally have no extra food costs and having the freedom to eat anywhere you want and have lots of signatures is really special. We have never had anything left over, with the snack credits any spare we buy candy to take home which is always consumed!
