Hi,

We have stayed at HRH and also at RPR. I would say HRH is the shortest walk to a park, you come out right next to Universal studios, maybe a 5min walk. RPR is a little longer of a walk, maybe 8mins and brings you out next to Margaritaville just across the little bridge from Islands of Adventure.

Personally I like RPR out of the two as its lovely and relaxed and thats what I need on a down day from the parks. My DH likes HRH more as hes big into music and it is pretty cool. We’ve never stayed at PB so can’t tell you about there.

We tend to book whichever of them is cheapest as really its a base and they are both great, and mostly just a way to get the express passes. Sure you’ll enjoy whichever you go to. Have a great holiday

I have stayed at RPR and Portofino. Portofino definitely the longest walk and whilst I have walked it a few times, I wouldn’t want to do it every day for much of the year.

I would have said that RPR was closer than HRH (and seems to be looking at google maps), we walked from here to the parks twice a day every day for a week on our last trip. Extremely quick and convenient.

I guess it all depends on which of the parks you are walking to. The path out the back of the pool area at HRH is certainly a quick walk. Perhaps its because the pathway is so winding from RPR that it feels longer

HRH is the nearest hotel to city walk and Universal, there is nothing much in it to IOA. If you go through the car park from HRH it is even quicker but you have to walk through the staff car park, I don't think you are supposed to but we have never been stopped from doing it.

HRH is quicker to citywalk and the universal park. Rpr is quicker to IOA.
We’ve stayed in all 3 and I’d stay in any of them again. I probably like HRH the most but not sure I’d always pay more than RPR for it.
We’ve just spent a wonderful 3 nights at a RPR this week and are at HRH in the summer.
For your first time staying onsite at universal just go with the cheapest one.

We stayed at HRH last year for a few nights. The walk to Universal is 5 minutes and a very nice walk too. I loved the location, it was fab being so close. We are staying at RPR in August for 2 weeks and really looking forward to it - hopefully the walk from there isn’t too much more than HRH

I'm staying in RPR just for a night to take advantage of front of line passes for 2 days (villa the rest of the time). Does anyone know how early I can pick up the passes as I already have my park tickets and want to get there for opening. Can I get the passes before check-in time?

Your romm key is your pass. However, you can check in before your room is ready as they know people want to go to the park early. SO turn up early 6am is ok, but maybe to early for the park opening!

They will txt you with your room number when ready and will txt UK numbers.
