I have a spreadsheet that I am using to compare all the different options, for the various dates we can do. IF those upgrade prices are correct, there was only a £17.46 difference between the cheapest value resorts (all star sports or music) and Coronado springs (this is after the 3% cashback from topcashback) for the whole two weeks.

Not sure if I like the look of Coronado Springs though. It doesn't feel very 'disney'. The next cheapest one of the moderates (on those dates) is Caribbean Beach Resort, but then it would be £224.07 more expensive than doing all star music or sports and upgrading. That's a saving I would be willing to make, so I might be more swayed towards one of those value hotels as I think DD would really enjoy the theming of them more. Will have to have a chat with DH to see what he thinks.
I’ve pre booked with ATD. They told me the prices as I was debating to book value or moderate. I was worried about CS as I’d heard about the convention centre but all the reviews are fab. It was 200 extra than All Stars and we’ve stayed there before so fancied a change. Also got a 300 dollar gift card for pre booking and it was cheaper than Disney x

I know some people don’t like pre booking after the fiasco last year with Virgin but I’ve always had excellent service from ATD and I can get my refund back if it’s not available. I know what you mean about theming, All Star Sports is great. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again!

Thanks Kerrie. CSR looks lovely, and I think if it was just DH and myself, we would choose there. But DD will be 3 when we go, and I think she will much prefer one of the more themed hotels.

I've looked at ATD for prices, and whilst they are slightly cheaper up front, the cashback available through topcashback for booking directly with Disney beats their price by about £50. Doesn't seem like much, but I am trying to save everything I can! lol

Last time I went, in 2008(!), I stayed in Pop Century with my sister, her husband and their two kids, and it was great fun!

You have to go for the biggest saving 😂.
My daughter wanted to stay at POP but it was too expensive for a value. She also wants to stay at French Quarter! I’d rather save the money for spends 😂

Haha yes, I agree! Although... I've just realised that the free $200 Disney gift card is only available on bookings with moderate (and above) hotels, so actually, that makes it the cheaper option!

If you book via ATD you get $100 gift card for a value, and if you reserve prior to 25th April, they will give an extra $100 (had an email from ATD yesterday).

We have stayed at few of the Value resorts and they were fine. A few years back I proced up a Value + QSDP upgrade compared to a Moderate and the difference was about £20 so booked POFQ.

Really enjoyed the Moderate and well worth the extra we paid. This year we are going to CSR as, again, the difference in price was negligible when compared to Value +QSDP - and that is without adding in the Disney Gift Card

I think the worry for some people is that last year Virgin did this, and weren't able to honour a lot of bookings...

The difference is that Virgin didn't have any authorisation to do it last year, whereas this year Disney have authorised it, with the caveat that all bookings will be confirmed on 25th and cannot be guaranteed. Last year, VH were pretty much promising your booking.
