Would recommend Sci-Fi as the type of food on offer would probably suit you.
It also has a really cool atmosphere, like a drive in theater at night. However it isn't character dining.

Boma is lovely, and there is a really wide choice, so something for the more cautious eaters as well as things for the more adventurous.

Trattoria Al Forno - (we love Italian so trying this out)

We loved Teppan Edo last visit and have done Grand Floridian Cafe, which was lovely.

O’hanas breakfast was our favourite character meal last time. Our favourite evening meal was ‘the wave’ at the contemporary. You could do rainforest cafe at the animal kingdom entrance if staying all and get the volcano for desert. Our kids loved this. We also loved raglan road

We are trying to decide between The Wave and Cape May Cafe for dinner at the moment. Raglan Rd is another I would like to try.

We're doing a split stay too and I have booked Teppan Edo, Chefs de France, Chef Art Smith's, Crystal Palace breakfast, 'Ohana, and 1900 Park Fayre Dinner. Need to drop one, which will be either CP as hoping for a BOG reservation, or 1900 PF as not sure about this. Did have Storybook Dining booked, but then brought our dates forward by a week, and unable to secure an ADR now. We're at AKL with adult children, but they'll have no problem doing character meals, although they have no idea we are staying on site

When are you going? If beaches and cream is back open then maybe that could ne an option.

I'd also recommend garden grill but for breakfast and lunch/dinner is sharing style so I don't know if they do nuggets although mac and cheese is included.

Also coral reef is really good, our little boy loved the fish. Places like rainforest, Trex and Planet Hollywood are good for kids.

If they like horses trails end is a good buffet and you can also go to D-Ranch, we always find it relaxing down there.

We really liked Garden Grill and Trails end both felt relaxed and had loads of time with characters - I know a lot of people love Ohana but we have done breakfast and dinner and felt we were rushed through and server was not great so have said we wont revisit that one for a while - but I think it depends on when you go. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall - Nieces really liked this one - but worth checking out menu first.
