Advice on New England itinerary
I am planning a New England road trip for end of Sept/ start of Oct to see the fall colours, as well as everything else in New England! We have 2 weeks and it is just me and my partner, both mid 30s. We like to keep busy, have early starts, are happy to have one night stays and busy days to fit in as much as we can! With that in mind I have come up with a rough itinerary, but would love any input from those of you that have been before! (I have read through quite a few trip reports, but it is so confusing after a while!)
Sat Sept 28th: Arrive into Boston about 1.30pm. Pick up car (part of a flydrive) and drive to airbnb. Explore some of the city to keep us awake! 29th: Boston (probably freedom trail) 30th: Harvard, Rockport, Salem (stay in Portsmouth area maybe?) 1st Oct: Portsmouth, Ogunquit, nubble lighthouse (stay in Portland area?) 2nd: Drive up to Acadia national park and spend day there (spend 2nights here) 3rd: Acadia 4th: Drive the white mountains area and spend the day here (spend 2 nights here) 5th: White mountains area 6th: Burlington and ben&jerrys factory - can probably add something else into this day but not sure what? (stay in Burlington area, but happy to change this) 7th: Visit Dartmouth and the green mountains (stay in green mountain area) 8th: yankee candle shop, bridge of flowers and Hartford (stay in Hartford) 9th: Yale and Providence (stay in Providence) 10th: Brown, ocean drive and cape cod (stay in cape cod for 3 nights - is this too long?) 11th: Cape cod 12th: Cap cod, plymouth, back to airport for 10.55pm flight. So, for those with more knowledge than me... anything obvious I have missed? Anything I am spending too much/ too little time at? I want to see everything I can in 2 weeks as we are unlikely to be back any time soon (too many other places on the list, that just seems to get longer not shorter! ). Thanks in advance all |
