Check that your main drains outside are not blocked.

We are in a new build and have this problem too.

I have a new washing machine, dishwasher and we replace all the pipes under the sink, but it still persists.

We have actually noticed it is worse after heavy rain, so our next plan s to contact the waterboard, but I am worried we will end up with a huge bill if it's nothing to do with them

If the kitchen waste pipe empties into a grid type drain outside then no drain smell will come back into the kitchen.

If however it goes into a 4" soil pipe through a side connection then yes a drain smell can emanate.

That type tends to be in more modern houses where the soil pipe is boxed in a corner of the bathroom and kitchen below. I don't like that system but it is what it is.

It was rectified very quickly and we have no problems now, I feel for you as I also tried every trick in the book but my goodness when the smell started boy did it start!

It was new build 20 years ago, but we have never had this problem before. We had the plumbing in the kitchen all redone 10 years ago but had no problems before! Can't believe we are having drain problems in this house, we are moving to a house that needs the drains replaced! Anyway looks like dh is in for a nice job this evening

Yep plinths all off, we are wondering if it is that and every time the hot water from the dishwasher goes past it it smells more. Can't see anything with a torch but the dishwasher and washing machine are coming out tonight - we know how to live

Have you looked into the bottom sump area of the dishwasher to ensure it's pumping out properly?

Be interesting to see if there is anything leaked under the dishwasher.

Its all dry under both of them and can tell it hasn't been wet as the 5 year old layer of dust is intact and the chunks of mdf it is standing on are fine, not blown or swollen.

Is the sump the bit where you pull out to clean the filter? If so it is fine, and the filter wasn't blocked before and is definitely very clean now!

Houses eh, who'd have them!

Yes you are right that's the sump. Well you can cross that off your list now. I lay odds it's the sink waste.
