Really, how bad is August for crowds?

Thinking of booking a 5 night trip mid August, there will be me, DW and DS who's 4, is it really as bad as I'm imagining in my head?

We went last August between 8-12th and whilst it was busy it was no where near as bad as I was expecting! My sister went in October half term and that was much much busier!

I wrote a trip report if that helps give you an idea of wait times

Personally I prefer October.
August for me is too busy , too humid and too much mixed weather.

If this was the only time we could go though I would go.

it is manageable and for the 3 years before last year I did do 3 weeks each time as we had to go then.

You say your DS is 4 would you not consider October ? out of term time ?

I think it depends really on what you do / go to. I found it less busy , but with this years Star Wars Im expecting it to be quite busy

Are you talking about WDW rather than DLP?

I was thinking of taking him out of school during term time, but DS is quite an anxious kid, and I don't want to disrupt him settling in during the first few months.

I was also thinking of October half term, but I really want to go when there's much chance of sunny, nice weather as we've always been in winter before so would be nice to experience hot weather at DLP (although I know even in August that's not a guarantee).

Haha I did think that 3 weeks in DLP was a little excessive!
