RIP Hannah Bharaj
theboltonnews/news...nd-depression/
What a heartbreaking story I can't imagine what she was going through for it to get so bad And what a dreadful thing for the parents to witness and not quite be able to get to her in time When my DD was a day care patient at the Priory in Cheadle , we went a couple of times to that John Lewis . Thankfully I can't picture in my head the coffee shop and the balcony , My DD is the same age as Hannah was , it could so easily have been her Love your kids every day and tell them that you are always there to talk with no matter how much life is throwing at you

So tragic. One of my team at work’s friend has just been admitted to a clinic after being hospitalised with eating disorders. She was due to be sitting her a-levels. Her family feel helpless, understandably. So much pressure on the young these days. RIP Hannah.

So tragic my heart goes out to her and her family. I lost my brother when he was 27 due to a similar circumstances its heartbreaking.
I really feel like as a society we have created a world which can be so difficult to live in and their are so many beautiful souls being lost. |

A 19 yr old not too far from where I live walked out in front of a Hgv a few weeks ago , her funeral was last week
Seems she’s been battling anorexia for 5 yrs and had had a few suicide attempts before . But her family and friends thought she was doing ok , seemed happy and was off to look around universities in the coming weeks . |

Ive been having a read of the various reports around Hannah's inquest
theboltonnews/news...lewis-balcony/ bbc/news/uk-englan...ester-48888483 manchestereveningnews.co...t-who-16527867 A few really interesting points - Really good to see an honest psychiatrist , not hiding from the situation . I don't see why anyone would think that a patient going out of the ward with their parents would think to jump off a balcony right in front of them . - he says she had the most extreme anorexia she had ever seen. Yet he was on the general ward at the Priory , not the eating disorder ward on the same site . NOtwithstanding what actually happened, which is easier to say with hindsight , but why did he seemingly not do anything to get her on the ward most suited to her ? It appears that when admitted she wasn't at the requisite weight / BMI for admission to the eating disorder ward - surely the Priory must know that weight is only one indicator - those with eating disorders need to be in the right place alongside doctors who know how to treat them ( MY DDs friend is in a similar situation - she is in general ward yet desperately needs to be rehoused into a more suitable ward to assist in ) - Glad to hear that they praised the parents - it's natural as a parent to ' blame ' yourself when these things just strike whoever/wherever - the lack of handover notes is extremely worrying . My DD moved from one Priory to another , they clearly had barely spoken as she was immediately put on a lower diet at the new site ,which in one swift movement undid a lot of the work done by the first site . Anyone with a mental health disorder deserves a proper handover of info - by the nature of their illness they won't in all cases help themselves , and in this case with tragic consequences I can't imagine how difficult running a mental health ward is, but please at least get the basics right I presume the improved ' transitional' resources references not putting vulnerable young people in mixed wards of much older patients. this is desperately needed. these people need to relate to their surroundings . I find it hard that the ward was described as ' disturbing' - yes the patients are difficult , but at least create an environment that is conducive to mental health improvement Sorry for waffling on
