Rome and then Sorrento on a multi centre.

The train between Rome and Naples only takes 1 hr 12 mins, is non stop and very nice indeed. It passes Monte Cassini at a mere 190mph, but you feel like you are in prem economy with twice the leg room.
The onward from Naples to Sorrento is rickety and takes 45 minutes.. the ultimate contrast!

The weather is warm and dry, the food excellent and the wine even better.

Quite simply the very best vacation that we have ever had.

Rome and all its sights/sites
Coliseum
Vatican
Forum
Palatine Hill
Circus Maximus
Spanish Steps
Castello de Angelo
Trevi Fountains
Pantheon
.. and that is a very shortened list!

Sorrento, beautiful and within touching distance..
Pompeii
Vesuvius
Herculaneum
Napoli museum of Archeology
Capri
Beautiful Positano (think Audrey Hepburn Galaxy chocolate advert).
A day out in a self drive boat to Positano, Capri and Amalfi (no licences or anything required).

You won’t even need a hire car from start to finish and you can put in as much.. or as little effort into the adventure as you like.
This sounds wonderful and something I'd love to do with my husband.

Mexico is another option, lots to do - we were out every single day. Xcaret was a great park, worth a 2 day visit. We booked a trip to Cobra that included a visit to a local village where we canoes, zip lined, rappelled, walked through the jungle and saw a tarantula. Hotel was brilliant, it was 3 hotels in 1, with all the restaurants available to use.

We are going to Mexico this Easter after a few Orlando holidays. We are going with our 20 year old daughter and her girlfriend. It looks like it will be good for us, there’s a few different restaurants on site and a marina close by. Also lots of different excursions near by as someone else said. Think
It will offer a chance to relax but also stuff to do! Think a fair few cocktails will also be enjoyed!
