Extended Evening Theme Park Hours
we will be staying at okw in May for 2 weeks and understand we will be entitled to the Extended Evening Theme Park Hours.
we were thinking of purchasing the genie+ but would it be worth it if we could get on those rides during these hours anyway. do other guests have to leave the parks before those hours or are they just not able to go on the rides |

They don't have to leave, but won't be allowed to enter the queues. If they're already in the queue at closing, they won't be kicked out. So the headliners may take some time to see a reduction in wait times depending how busy it is.

Unless it’s a specific after hours event then I don’t think there are extended evening hours anymore. Isn’t it just 30 minutes early morning entry now for onsite only?

Yes, 30 minutes every day at every park. The only section where it is equal are the parts of MK not open during early entry.
They are back. Two hours in the evenings for deluxe and DVC guests only. Currently Mondays at Epcot, Wednesdays at MK. Edited at 04:33 PM. |

Are you likely to get on one top ride if you get there 30 mins earlier than the guests with genie plus

Depends where in the crowd you are. Rope drop is MUCH busier than it used to be, because so many people are trying to avoid paying for the rides.
To give an example from my experience, Frozen was already an 85 minute wait by the time the park opened, i.e. onsite guests only in the queue. This was early December, so not even a peak week. If you were at the front of the crowd, you'll walk straight on. If you're at the back, it's not worth it at all. |

No, Genie+ is only available in regular park hours. Both early entry and extended evening hours are standby only.
