Section 75 query - does anybody know about it?

We have a section 75 claim going through at the moment for a faulty sofa.

Virgin Money have said that they are satisfied that all evidence etc has been sent in and they are now approaching the supplier for the refund.

Should Section 75 refund us and then claim the money back? We have been waiting over a year now

My only experience was a VH that didn't happen in 2020 due to lockdown/pandemic.

Halifax refunded within days of accepting and then chased VH for money.

Little different as no dispute the holiday was cancelled by VH.

I hope you get your money soon.

I've done two of these and the money came through fairy quickly. My understanding is that an S75 claim is paid by the card company so the delay should be short

Yes - the bank should refund you and place a temporary credit on your account. The bank then chargeback the amount to the merchant. The merchant only have certain amount of time to dispute the chargeback which would be for the reason faulty goods. If no dispute is received or the merchant agree to the chargeback then the credit becomes permanent and your bank should advise you of this.
