I was behind a cyclist once who used his arm to indicate his intentions, had lights to the front and rear and kept close to the road edge. In addition he didn’t go through one red light or ride on the pavement at all.

Oh, forgot to add he had bicycle clips on and it was 1972.

Haven’t seen once since comply with all the rules but I remain hopeful.

They should make it compulsory for cyclists to use cycle paths where they are available and ensure every bike has a bell.

My route to work which is just two miles away from home is 75% cycle path. Pedestrians walk in the majority of it because bushes overhang the pathway and the one that goes behind a local supermarket is used by dog walkers who let their dogs out on 50foot extension leads all over the place so it’s nigh on impossible to get to work without encountering some issue. I’m one of those rare cyclists who wear a helmet, high vis, use lights and a bell

So I thought the new rules started today 🤦🙄
Anyway just back on my early bike ride 💪
Buses seemed to give me the most room 😍
My pet hates as a cyclist are cars too close even when on a country lane no other cars on the road, they still want to be close 🙄
And when drivers open their cars doors without looking first I’d want to know if a lorry or another car is coming definitely regardless of whether it’s a bike
I’m knackered now very warm & a harsh breeze today
