Prices

Having not been for two years we usually get so many bargains and the prices here now are so expensive it’s even better getting them at home now so shocked .

I will stick to the shops like Bath & Body's works then as we can't get them easily here, the choice that Next have is not so good.

The bargains ended in 2016 when sterling collapsed from $1.60 to as low as $1.18. I believe its around $1.30 now

Nike trainers are now cheaper in the UK. They used to be one of the best bargains along with Ralph Lauren.

Means less trips to the outlets for me which is a positive

I still found most things cheaper but that was using coupons and Black Friday sales
Food had gone up and the price of gas was way cheaper than here

We were generally of the same opinion but after the first few days we found ourselves being more savvy shoppers. Foodwise we ditched Publix for most items and found Aldi much better priced. Eating out we found coupons and free appetisers etc. which helped - quite often we'd eat the leftovers the following lunchtime.

When it came to items such as Nike, which my male family members love, their trainer prices were definitely dearer than here, Sketchers outlets were also a poor show. However, we found Nike clothing bargains, especially when there was an extra 30% off the clearance rails at the weekend and it helps when all the men, boys and girls wear small sizes.

As we were there over Thansksgiving, there were extra discounts in Target and Walmart on toys but some offers were only for one day at a time so you had to be quick. Appreciate that's not easy if you're travelling with children, but as a couple, we saw something online, checked stock and went straight out to get it. It certainly was hard to find good bargains but they were there.

I still brought home lots of chocolate and sweets for Christmas, not particularly cheap but more the things I can't buy here.

Not sure how we managed it but still brought home 2 extra cases full of stuff

Jill

Like Moorlandman says the bargains ended when the pound plunged. I now concentrate on the things I can't get in the UK.

DH came away with a couple of pairs of Levi's. Had to go to the international outlet to get my new Kate spade purse though
