We eat Vegan once a week and veggie once or twice a week
DH manages fine he doesn’t drink coffee or tea just the occasional hot coco
Me I struggle as I love tea and take milk and I can’t stand any of the plant based milk in it
If I could get plain no flavour unsweetened ice tea her I’d be fine but the choice here is so sweet it’s sickening and green tea doesn’t cut it and yes I’ve tried making my own is just not right

I have been following a vegan diet around 5 times a week, the days off include cheese & ice cream 🙈 I can quite happily go without meat, I was vegetarian for 11 years. My husband and youngest do love chicken though. There wouldn’t be much my youngest could eat if he didn’t eat meat because he is only allowed limited food groups. My daughter is like me and can happily not eat meat 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I only have black coffee in the morning anyway and I now substitute cows milk for oat milk.
I just love cheese on pasta bakes and I reall love ice cream 🙈🙈 but I will try to cut them out for January!

My first cake of the new year is a vegan one.
It’s just out of the oven.
We don’t eat masses of meat and I could easily be veggie but not vegan.
Interested to see any cake recipes anyone tries as I only have 2 I am happy with. The chocolate one is great (if not a little claggy) but the vanilla is quite planty. Good rise though

Morrisons are currently selling the Nomo caramel chocolates at a reduced price. Reduced from £5 to £2 but when we scanned them they were only 25p so went and got more.

Wow, they look great! I went to Pizza Express last summer and tried the vegan Pollo Ad Astra! It's great that they have so many options.

Has anyone managed to get out and try the Burger King nuggets? I've seen some photos and they look incredible!

I'm sure this isn't what I should be taking from this thread, but I'm going to get a Mcdonalds burger on the way home from work today, I've never had one!

I've been vegan 18 months now, after many years veggie. I've found vegan cheese always disappointing, there's nothing else I really miss though. I prefer oat milk to dairy in my coffee (Calia is my favourite) and little things like flora making vegan 'butter' is just great.

If you're after easy meals rather than fancy recipes, to help you get through the month, things like jacket potato and beans are staples for me. Most crumpets are vegan. Richmond sausages are great, like others have said. Alpro yogurts are good snacks to have in. I also love hummus, making my own or if I'm feeling really fancy M&S hummus is really yummy. I have been known to eat it from the tub with a spoon.

Cooking wise, I make a lot of stirfries and currys, adding tofu in the stirfries and chickpeas/cannellini beans to the currys to keep them balanced. Once of my favourite curries involves roasting whole aubergines and then scooping the insides out and adding into the curry. But there is a way to veganise most things, so you can stick to what's similar to what you normally eat.

As someone else said, don't stress if you make a mistake or don't stick to it completely.
