We have a note in our guest information pack about what to do prior to departing the villa. We do ask guests to strip any beds they have used and put a first wash on as the cleaners do really appreciate that.

For us it depends. If there is washing liquid there when we arrive, or we have any of ours left, then yes, we will put on a wash. Rubbish goes out... always, and we make sure to not have much after the last collection before we leave.

As for bedding, I am not fit/capable enough to remove bedding from a super king or bunk beds, and hubby has an arm problem that means he cannot... So we leave it on the beds, but rumpled enough to show it has been used.

Everything is always clean and tidy.

Always put out bins, strip beds ( I put used bedding/ towels in the bath usually), if owner asks for first wash to be put on then I will do. Make sure fridge is empty. I don't go too mad but I do like to leave any accommodation tidy.

We got a telling off once because we had not put the towels away exactly as they had been stacked when we arrived. What did they expect me to do, photograph everything?

Well done everybody...thinking of others as they are about to leave
It is very good idea to trip all the beds you have used and start a wash if you have time
That way the maid knows which beds have been used
Good also to put all the used towels in the wash area
Taking out the rubbish too..empty the coffee machine...load and put on the dish washer
I would expect this of guests I have given a late checkout, since they are there
But others leaving early please just do what you can..xxxxx

Then put everything else back where we found it if we have moved anything. We then leave anything we are not taking back (toiletries or food) in a prominant place, so its obvious we have not just forgotten it, incase the cleaner want them (obviously unopened food, and nearly full toiletries)

Exactly what I do. I also leave a note just to say what bathrooms/bedrooms we haven’t used. (Although it should be obvious as although we open the door to have a nose, we don’t go in it again).

We do the same as others, full on clean and wash bedding etc. We also like to leave a small gift for the cleaners such as chocolates or sweets that we bring with us from the UK specially, things you can't get in America as a little treat.

We always do as others have mentioned. I also wipe out the fridge and wipe down kitchen and bathroom surfaces, I’m always worried what the cleaners would think if I didn’t leave everything in order.

We try to leave accommodation as we would wish to find it when we arrive so as others have said:
Strip beds and start a wash (include towels)
Empty bins
Make sure all crockery, cutlery etc is washed and put away
Empty and clean fridge/ freezer
Make sure bathrooms are clean
Hoover through
