I’m staying 2/2 for 7 nights in the little mermaid standard rooms. I’ve just found out by watching DFB that the little mermaid pool is closed for refurbishment. This is a big deal as we were planning on pool afternoons with a young child to break up the day. Is it a bit of trek to other parts of the resort with the pools?
Can my TA do anything as they haven’t informed me of this ? |

It's not that far to the main Nemo pool, probably 5 minutes. It's right outside the lobby area. The other quiet pool is a few minutes beyond that in the Cars area.
I don't think the TA can do anything as you can't be moved to another part of the resort since it's the only area with standard rooms. I think the best they might be able to do is a discretionary move to somewhere like Pop if there's availability. Their pool is closing for maintenance as well but not until the 15th. Pool closures over winter are pretty standard and there's a general disclaimer that amenities may be unavailable at any time. Edited at 08:16 PM. |

Personally I thought it was a bit of a schlep from Little Mermaid down to the main pool.
It's not really the sort of walk you'd want to do in your swimming cossie either. The LM pool was so handy for the rooms being right in the middle between the blocks. Another time we stayed in a Lion King suite and really missed a quiet pool . Not that LM pool is quiet - in fact it was he tic but in a good way The LM area and rooms are great for the theming but if a main part of your day is the pool I'd consider trying to get a move. Pop would be my aim but we all also enjoyed All Star Music. I'd be arguing a major (to me) lack of amenity with the TA. Edited at 06:15 PM. |
