Feeling sad today

Two news... one sad news and other new news but I feel sad.

My friend had breast cancer and she had both breast removed (that what she want) that was few year ago and now I find out that cancer is back spread lung and kidney.

I am shocking and i dont know what I do?

Do I send her flowers to let her know that I am thinking of her?

I am sitting down whether I do text her and I find difficult what to saying.

Also my daughter's boyfriend got tumour on his hip and bone femur.

He had an operation last Thursday and it was not cancer. it was long an operation 7 hours.

His operation was successful. My daughter visited him last Saturday and I think she was upset too. He is young 22 years old and will have replacement hip in future. unlikely that he might not back to football player.

Do contact your friend in whatever way you think is best - a message, flowers or a nice candle (if you think she may get lots of flowers). She may still be processing and not ready to respond but I have a friend in a similar position and I always just end my message with ‘no need to respond’.

Hope your daughter is okay. Must be hard for her having to support her boyfriend also.

Contact your friend in the same manner as you usually do. Text if you usually text, phone if you phone. Simply say you're sorry to hear her news & offer to visit/walk dog/do shopping etc or simply sit with her .
Remember to also take care of yourself.

I agree with everyone above - just let her know you are thinking about her. And try not to take on too much worry, you have to look after yourself, as well.

I texted my lovely friend and I let her know that I am here for her etc and she texted back lovely words to me. I must visit her at North soon.

My daughter seem cheered up yesterday and she have text or facetime her boyfriend everyday which was good. He live in Glasgow.
