Entering Italy.

We are aware things can change rapidly but as it stands, to enter Italy it is my understanding that our last covid jab has to be within 180 days of our arrival into the country…?

This would be after 1st November as we travel on 30th April.

My husbands last booster was 20th october, but the NHS are not offering extra jabs here and there I dont think, so am not sure how we can get round this?

We’re going early March to Venice. My understanding is pre-departure test & if passed 7 months you need a booster. I don’t think there’s a time limit on the booster shot, though I could be wrong.

I was looking at this and I read it as last vaccine no longer than 7 months. I was actually looking at Spain with is 9 months. If it is booster with no time limit that would be great for me!

Actually re reading the article I think you are right and boosters don’t have an expiry! Excellent!

So if youre boosted, it doesnt matter how long ago that was?
I really don’t want to assume we are good to go and then find we are not but its all so confusing!

Hi
I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Italy is changing the validity of the Green Pass (needed to access all non essential shops, museums, public transport, etc) to 6 months since your last vaccination from the 1st of February. This includes booster shot. Tourist organisations are rightly worried that it will impact their businesses as a lots of countries started booster much earlier than Italy but the Italian government are using this to encourage citizens to get boosted. I’m hoping that it will change as my second trip in May is now in doubt. There is reports that the government are reconsidering this but nothing changes quickly and the upheaval of the Presidential Election may slow things even more. This link may be useful, if it works.

Hi
Should have said if the link works The Local is a good source of information about Italy and a few other European countries, free access to read a limited number of articles a month. So no need to pay unless, like me😁, you love Italy and want to be well informed.

At this stage of the game, I wish you could pay for the vaccine if you require it for travel. As you have to for various other vaccines when travelling. If it’s the case that you can’t go on holiday so many months after your booster, most of the U.K. will be staying at home again this summer.🙈

Here are current entry rules-

You must have had your last dose within 180 days of entering Italy -

Green pass - (to leave italy by plane)

Super green pass (for hotels restaurants and tourist attractions)

We are going to enquire about another booster for my husband as he is immuno compromised (he had cancer last year which is why his booster was earlier than ours) the rest of us are within the time frame. Not sure this will happen though! As you say would be great if we could just choose and pay the same as we pay for testing.

Flip I had no idea about the 180 days, if they keep that in they’ll lose tourists big time as most countries are only giving one booster. We had ours in December so we’re lucky we can still go in March, I didn’t know we had to register our tests on a website or am I reading that wrong says that under green pass when leaving Italy, so confused 😐
