Knee Injury Any Ideas

A couple of days before Christmas i stood up from the sofa and heard and felt the back of my knee crunch and ended up in severe pain and couldn't move.

I ended up in A&E for 6 hours, Xray and CT scan were inconclusive and I'm waiting for an MRI.

I was in agony for a couple of days and on crutches and then on the 4th day the pain went and I was just left with an ache.

It was that bad I thought I would have to cancel Christmas and I had to cancel my holiday to Disney for mid Jan.

Two weeks later I was woken up in the night in pain again and my knee had gone the same again although the pain wasn't quite as intense but again I couldn't walk without crutches and trying to sleep was very painful. As before on the 4th day it went. I had been doing some gentle exercises so thought it was that.

Saturday morning just gone l woke up and the same thing again, 4th day today am I'm fine again.

A GP is ringing me Thursday as I'm hoping they might be able to speed up the MRI.

Does anyone with a medical background have any ideas? This is just out of interest as its so weird how bad it gets and then just gets better.

I'm assuming its my ligaments .

Thanks

Can you fully straighten your knee. I have a bucket handled tear with a similar story.

Ask the GP specialist to check your hip on the same side that you have the pain in your hip. I suffered pain in my knee on an off for years and saw several "experts" and even had keyhole surgery but it ended up being secondry form my hip and yes it could come on suddenly

That was all checked in A&E, I had a thorough going over, they are satisfied with my hip but i will bear it in mind, thanks.
